Sometimes the loveliest ideas appear almost in passing. For us it started as a perfectly everyday thought: why do we women have so many clothes in the wardrobe – and still wear the same things over and over? Bad buys, too small, too big or simply not our style any more… and yet those pieces keep hanging there, almost a little forgotten.
That is exactly where our idea came from. We thought there really ought to be something that works like a children’s bazaar – only for women. A place to browse, with no obligation, without having to sell anything yourself, completely relaxed. And above all: with the good feeling that all those lovely pieces will make someone else happy once more.
And so our Burgfräulein bazaar was born.

From the very beginning it was clear to us that it should be more than “just” a bazaar. We wanted to create something special. A place where people meet, laugh, discover and simply have a good time. And that is exactly what it became: a small event organized with a lot of heart.
Every time, so many women – and the odd man too – come from near and far. Young, older, a wonderfully mixed crowd. There is browsing, trying on, chatting and laughing. For us every single bazaar is a highlight. And every time it confirms that we were right about our idea.

But what matters most to us is the good cause. The proceeds stay here in the village. Whether it is new play equipment for the playground, support for a coach trip or something for the library – it is exactly these small things that strengthen our community. And it makes us incredibly proud to know that we can contribute.

Naturally our bazaar keeps developing too. With the MukiBasar app a lot has become simpler and more modern – both for us as organizers and for the sellers. At the till you simply scan, and as a seller you can even follow in real time what has been sold. That really moved us another big step forward – straightforwardly and without much effort.
In the end, though, the most important thing remains: the joy. The joy of putting something together as a group. The joy of passing things on instead of throwing them away. And the joy of doing something good for others.
Perhaps we are not classic heroines. But when you see what can grow out of a small idea – then sometimes it does feel a little like it.
And that is exactly why we love our bazaar. 💖
